Course information
This course will enhance your existing skills, knowledge and understanding of leadership and management in a healthcare organisation, to help you tackle the needs of modern twenty-first-century healthcare. We’ll help develop you into a visionary leader who can inspire others and provide high-quality, innovative healthcare around the world. You’ll have the opportunity to gain functional expertise, business acumen and develop a solid understanding of contemporary management practices, to help you stand out and advance your career.
The course has been devised as a one-year full-time course. It is constructed based on a modular framework of 180 credits. The course is comprised mainly of core modules that are common to all MBA courses, with several mandatory modules. Where students have options that are open to several courses, you are required to choose assignment topics relevant to your chosen degree. Two exit awards are also available to students who complete 60 or 120 credits, and not the full MBA.
Career prospects
This is more than a management course. Managers are responsible for planning, organising, leading, and controlling functions within an organisation. But not all managers are leaders.
This course will help you develop the skills needed to be a leader – such as communication, motivation, providing inspiration and guidance, and encouraging employees to rise to a higher level of productivity.
You’ll graduate with a leadership qualification in healthcare sector, offering you the possibility to work for the NHS, private healthcare organisations or academic institutions.
As part of the journey of professional and role development, students are encouraged to continue on their academic journey through access to a range of higher degrees, including PhD and other taught doctorates.
