Exercise can be an incredibly powerful tool – whether to drive elite athletic performance or to fight obesity, cancer, depression and a range of other conditions. Our BSc (Hons) Health and Exercise Science programme can help you master how exercise is best used to treat health conditions and understand how to adapt training when a health condition alters a person’s ability to exercise, by blending an understanding of human biology, physiology and psychology.Studying a wide range of modules, you will develop an in-depth understanding of the structure and function of the human body, exploring how our health responds to various forms of exercise, as well as how we must adapt training approaches when clinical conditions are present. You’ll get a good grounding in the key scientific principles, before developing higher-level knowledge focused on responses to the physical, psychological and environmental stressors that affect sports, exercise and health.
