The Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care offers students work–related placement opportunities to promote higher level skills for the health and social care sector. This course is suitable for those wanting to pursue a career in the care sector, working with children, young people, adults and the elderly. This course is recognised by Skills for Care who are the sector skills council for people working in early years, children and young people's services, and those working in social work and social care for adults and children in the UK. Skills for Care is one of four partners in SfC&D along with: Care Council for Wales. The endorsement is recognition that our health and social care department has an approved mark of quality and is only awarded to the best learning and development centres in the adult social care sector. This course is suitable for those wanting to pursue a career in the health or care sector, working with children, young people, adults and the elderly. You will develop skills in workplace management and social policies as well researching modern social issues linked to vocational areas. Many of our Foundation Degree students have secured employment in a wide range of roles in the sector, including; drug and alcohol counselors, care workers and working within the NHS. Employers rate our links to industry and work placements as a benefit to gaining future employment. Other roles, such as Social Workers, Nursing or Occupational Therapists, require additional professional qualifications and further study.
