Higher Education Practice MEd

OVERVIEW

Our MEd Higher Education Practice course is ideal if you are a practitioner working within, or have access to, a Higher Education (HE) or equivalent setting and wish to further develop your skills and knowledge within the diverse and changing contexts of contemporary Higher Education. The first stage of the qualification (Postgraduate Certificate - PgCert) helps prepare your application to the Higher Education Academy (HEA).

Offered in both fully online and online with face-to-face learning study modes, the programme provides an academic qualification in addition to professional development, using practical, task-oriented activities that participants apply to their own educational context. It addresses the broader socio-cultural and international contexts within which HE sits, as well as the professional contexts of HE practice. Internationalisation and inclusion inform all aspects of the curriculum, ensuring the programme’s relevancy to those working in local, national and international higher education and related settings.

Teaching & Assessment

Each of the intended learning outcomes is addressed by one or more activity, and is supported by readings and other course materials, and by participation in any taught elements or scheduled sessions.

There are no formal exams; you are assessed on the coursework of each module.
