Course summary

From the Crusades to Churchill’s army, and from Civil War America to the rise of China, on this course you will use historical sources to research, write and debate history. You'll learn how to compare and contrast different political institutions and systems, and understand how contemporary political ideas and practice are influenced by history. History and Politics at Kent lets you look at both subjects in a new light, exploring political cause and effect. You’ll have the chance to follow your own interests, and investigate the methods used by political scientists to explore questions about how politics works and how it might work in future.
