Course summary

This course is for those who are curious about how decisions are made and communicated, or why we have certain structures and organisations and how they came to be formed. You will approach key themes from political and historical perspectives. Gaining a real-life understanding of the world of politics, you’ll explore current practice in the UK, as well as developments around the world. History content examines key themes and events in modern history relevant to political and social development. From African-American civil rights to the origins of the Israel/Palestine conflict. You will graduate with key transferable skills, including the ability to conduct research, craft a message to communicate a point of view, and analyse complex information.
