In choosing to study this Education with History degree you'll cover a broad spectrum of childhood development activities that include the sociological, psychological and educational facets that influence the development of children alongside the essential History syllabus. Also, as long as you meet the entry requirements, you will be guaranteed an interview for Primary PGCE at Aberystwyth.History has been taught in Aberystwyth since 1872, making our department the oldest in Wales and one of the foremost in Britain. We offer you opportunities to engage with a wide variety of approaches to literature and cultural history, combining critical thinking with scholarship. The Department of English and Creative Writing is home to New Welsh Review, Wales’ prominent literary magazine - this could be an exciting opportunity for you to get involved. You will have the option to explore literary theory - philosophical and conceptual ideas that inform, challenge and problematise the ways we read. Our History subject areas range from early to modern history, political history, social history, economic and cultural history. A degree in English Literature is the "gold standard" for any employment setting where communication is valued.
