The History of Art degree provides students with a general grounding across the broad field of courses covering Africa, pre-Islamic and Islamic Near and Middle East, South Asia, South East Asia and North East Asia (China, Japan and Korea). The BA Social Anthropology teaches the methods of social anthropological investigation, emphasising the detailed study of multiple, interwoven areas of social life, through long participation and linguistic familiarity.
