Course summary

Please note that due to COVID-19, this course will initially be delivered via a blended learning approach, which may include face-to-face learning in the classroom, remote learning off-campus and digital learning. When delivery is taking place on-campus, there will be reduced student numbers and physical distancing measures in place.

This course is aimed at people who wish to pursue a career working within a community based setting and who are already, or would like to become involved in community based development work.

The course provides a nationally recognised qualification and recognises the skills, qualities and knowledge developed through experience of working within the community. Students will undertake a placement in the statutory or the voluntary sector doing community work, youth work or adult education to give them valuable practical experience.

On successful completion of this course students may progress onto a related degree programme.
