Course summary


Graduates who successfully complete this course will obtain a varied skill set well suited for the broad range of opportunities within the animal industry. In a highly competitive sector, Cambria’s students will be equipped to enter the work sector with a range of transferable and practical industry based skills including managing animal collections, delivering teaching instruction and implementing behaviour modification plans.

Course Duration

Students on this course will be required to undertake periods of self study, additional to taught hours. This programme will be delivered through a combination of online and face to face sessions to suit your individual needs, subject to us being able to work within the Welsh Government guidance and legislation to ensure the safety of you and our staff. We will also continue to support those with additional learning needs remotely. Please note that where work placements are not able to be fulfilled for safety reasons we will adapt modules to include work related projects in a way that will still develop your work based skills.


Assessment will be through a combination of assessment methods including examinations, controlled assessments, assignments, practicals, presentations, case studies, projects and peer observations.
Assignments will be marked electronically and you will be given feedback and pointers for improvement for every assessment.

Career Options

Students who successfully complete the HND in Animal Management will have the necessary qualifications to pursue further study.

• Animal Rescue Centre Manager.
