Course summary

This course in Human Resource Management provides students with a high-quality graduate management education and development experience. Through an intellectually stimulating course of professional graduate education, Human Resource Management develops the operational skills and behaviours of human resource management and development practitioners.

This is a standalone course, but you may decide to continue to the Postgraduate Diploma HRM/D which leads to chartered membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Learning Environment and Assessment

We provide support and guidance for each form of assessment as we move through the programme. So, for example you will have a session on exam techniques before you are expected to do an examination and a session on presentation skills before you are expected to carry out an assessed presentation. The University procedure for resits will be explained at induction and in the student handbook. We use a variety of assessment methods ranging from organisational reports, essays, short examinations, continuing professional development portfolios, case studies, skills assignments and group presentations.
