Course summary

Take your career to the next level with our full-time, one-year, Human Resource Management MA. Accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), this course is designed to help you apply your knowledge to business issues from a HRM perspective.

Our MA course is an exciting programme taught by industry practitioners and highly regarded academics. We combine fast-paced on and off-campus learning with professional accreditation to give you skills, experience, and the best chance for future employability in Human Resource Management (HRM).

Mapped to the CIPD Level 7 Certificate and Diploma*, you will study modules that are relevant to contemporary work issues, including Leading, Managing and Developing people and Investigating a Business Issue from a HR Perspective. Our broad range of core and optional modules will work in challenging you to consider how different HRM approaches are the key to success in corporate environments.

At Staffordshire University, we have over 25 years’ experience of preparing students for their professional qualifications, and we want you to our ranks of former students at senior HR levels in local and national organisations.

If you have already achieved a Level 7 CIPD qualification you can top this up to a full masters in one year part-time – please enquire.

On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: MA Human Resource Management.

Assessment

There are two types of assessments: practice (also called formative) or formal (also called summative).

Practice assessments do not count towards your final mark. These are your chance to test your understanding – and learn how to improve for the real thing.

You’ll have formal assessments for each module. These include assignment/essays/reports, group presentation, exams/ class tests, or case study-based assessments.
