Course description

Due to the ongoing impact of the global pandemic we have had to evaluate all of our courses to ensure that we adhere to Government guidelines to protect the health and wellbeing of our staff and students. Are you fascinated by the ethical, health and well-being implications of the rapid advancement of technology in the modern era? This postgraduate degree sets the focus on the overarching theme of well-being/positive computing. This very topical field is rapidly growing in importance with the increasing demands on highly usable self-learning and self-care IT, which aligns with the notion of subjective wellbeing (SWB) driven design approaches.

This course offers a combination of HTI specific modules and other specialisms within the School of Informatics including algorithms, software engineering modelling, machine learning and data mining. The range of possible combinations lets you create and develop more versatile systems, enhancing your employability in the ICT sector.

Teaching and learning

Assessment is a mix of coursework - computer-based practicals, essays and small group projects - and exams.

Careers and employability

This degree should prove useful in applying for jobs in the ICT industry as well as companies, charity organisations, NGOs and research institutes which are involved in the design and development of software-intensive systems/products/services.
