Skills

You will develop your English language and academic skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) and gain a basic understanding of using English for academic purposes and a thorough grounding in academic study skills, such as essay structure, exam technique, referencing, journal and library research. You’ll be introduced to the concepts of sociology and how sociologists conduct their research. Topics will be drawn from current affairs to highlight how sociology is a subject that responds to what is going on in the world around us and how it often challenges our own assumptions on various issues.You'll gain a broad and critical understanding of the relationship between crime and its social and legal context.
