Course summary

We offer post-graduate studies at both PhD and MSc by Research levels that provide extensive further training in fundamental and specialised research skills across the fields of immunology and immunotherapy.

Understanding how the immune system works and then utilising this knowledge to manipulate immune responses and treat disease, are two of the most exciting areas of scientific research. They offer the potential to tackle infectious diseases, enhance treatments for cancer and develop therapies for autoimmune disorders. The Institute of Immunology and Immunotherapy has an array of leading researchers focused on delivering breakthroughs in these research areas.

Research within the Institute is focused in three areas:

  • Immune Regulation
  • Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy
  • Gut and Liver Inflammation

Within each of these themes are multiple research groups offering a range of post-graduate research projects from which you can choose areas of particular interest. All post-graduate students have a supportive supervisory team comprised of two independent PIs, further assisted by College wide mentorship schemes and an array of student support services.

Our PhD/MSc by Research program will provide you with high quality research training to enable you to conduct independent investigative research. Your thesis will represent an original contribution to knowledge and demonstrate independent judgement.

For all you need to know about our staff, news, research areas and the impact of our research visit the Institute of Immunology and Immunotherapy.
