Course summary
What is Inclusive Education MA?
Study inclusive education to Master’s level, or study part-time for a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) to gain accreditation linked to your work in schools to gain the Inclusion Quality Mark. You’ll be assessed 100% by coursework.
Study for a Master’s qualification
The course begins with a discussion about how the term ‘inclusion’ can be interpreted. Working with experienced education professionals, you’ll explore policies and philosophies of inclusion in relation to both special educational needs and wider inclusion groups, as well as theories of social justice and equality for all students.
We’ll consider how to evaluate and develop policy and practices in individual educational institutions, and analyse how far current educational contexts of performance and high-stakes accountability may affect developments in inclusionary thinking and practice.
Possible careers
Graduates from this course can go on to work as:
- Subject Leader/SENCo
- senior or middle leadership role with a responsibility for inclusion
- practitioners with a specific responsibility for inclusive pedagogy development throughout a school group
- teachers, leaders and practitioners wanting to enhance their inclusive practice.
