Course summary
Infectious disease is a major challenge to society in the developed and developing worlds. Our infectious diseases programme investigates the microorganisms that cause disease in humans and animals and how a host responds to infection.It brings together the study of: bacteriology virology immunology molecular biology You will study: the interaction between microorganisms and hosts infection processes how microbes cause disease We can apply this knowledge to the development of prevention and therapeutic strategies, such as: antibiotics antiviral agents vaccines
