Course summary

This Part-time course practice based course has been designed to meet the identified need for quality educational provision in the area of counselling and successful completion confers fitness to practice counselling. This Foundation Degree is awarded by Ulster University, is currently accredited by the National Counselling Society (NCS) and all tutors delivering the course are experienced counselling practitioners.

You will attend college for one day a week throughout the three years of the course. In years two and three you are required to complete 100 hours of supervised practice experience in an approved placement of your choosing.

Students may exit after two years with a Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling Studies. This qualification reflects the theoretical knowledge gained at level 4, but does not include placement hours and is not preparation for professional counselling practice.

Applicants are strongly advised to have successfully completed the UU Certificate in Counselling Studies or equivalent before applying for this programme. This course is awarded and regulated by Ulster University and is currently accredited bv the National Counselling Society.
