International Politics
OVERVIEW
Choosing to study International Relations and Politics with us will provide you with an exciting and varied curriculum, as well as opportunities to apply your learning in international settings. Throughout this course, you will develop a critical understanding of contemporary issues such as threats to global security, the changing nature of international co-operation and power alignments, environmental politics, the future of democracy and the politics of communication. Our academic staff have a wide range of specialist research interests and you will learn in a friendly and supportive environment.
Course Details
As a joint-honours’ student, you will complete half of your degree in International Politics, alongside another subject that you have chosen. This means that, each year, you will complete 60 credits with each of your subjects. Whilst, in the first year, your International Politics modules are compulsory, to ensure that you have a good foundation within the subject, in the remaining years, all your modules will be chosen by you; allowing you to develop your own interests.
This course will develop your knowledge and understanding of the nature of contemporary international politics.
Postgraduate Opportunities
Our postgraduate courses are a great way to enhance the skills you have already learnt. Benefit from our 20% alumni discount on postgraduate fees to give you a CV that will catch the eye of employers.
Creative Film, Television and Digital Media Production
OVERVIEW
This practice-based course will give you a wide range of experience and a greater understanding of media production across a number of genres such as drama and documentary. You will be able to combine these studies with another area of interest through a Joint Honours degree. Joint honours degrees allow you to study two subjects. You can study them both equally, or focus on one more than the other, creating a major/minor split.
Course Details
Our Media Production and Moving Image course will help you to become a multi-faceted media professional, comfortable with contemporary production skills and processes, and able to think creatively and critically.
You will start by studying a broad range of media before specialising for your final year. Although there is a practical emphasis for this course, you will also learn contemporary theories and approaches to media forms, audiences and industries. The course is designed to enable you to play a full role in the modern digital media world through the experience you will gain and the portfolio of work you will produce.
