International Politics
OVERVIEW
Choosing to study International Relations and Politics with us will provide you with an exciting and varied curriculum, as well as opportunities to apply your learning in international settings. Throughout this course, you will develop a critical understanding of contemporary issues such as threats to global security, the changing nature of international co-operation and power alignments, environmental politics, the future of democracy and the politics of communication. Our academic staff have a wide range of specialist research interests and you will learn in a friendly and supportive environment.
Course Details
As a joint-honours’ student, you will complete half of your degree in International Politics, alongside another subject that you have chosen. This means that, each year, you will complete 60 credits with each of your subjects. Whilst, in the first year, your International Politics modules are compulsory, to ensure that you have a good foundation within the subject, in the remaining years, all your modules will be chosen by you; allowing you to develop your own interests.
This course will develop your knowledge and understanding of the nature of contemporary international politics.

Economics
OVERVIEW
The study of Economics underpins everything from world affairs and politics to wealth and poverty, national economic management and the functioning of business. This course provides you with the opportunity to study a range of economic topics alongside another complementary subject. You will have the opportunity to study contemporary economics both in the UK and overseas and you can select key areas of interest from a range of modules.

Studying Economics helps you to gain analytical skills which are of value in many fields of employment. This course will provide you with the opportunity to study a range of economic topics and develop the skills and knowledge to enable you to understand economic issues.
Progression through the course stages gives you the opportunity to study areas of interest using knowledge and methods that you have gained. Modules reflect contemporary issues and problems in economics both in the UK and overseas.
