Course summary

How will the West adapt to the growth of Asia’s economic and political influence on global affairs? How might this shift in power affect the world order? How will relationships between Asia and the West evolve?BA International Relations and Asian Studies will give you insights into the latest international relations developments between Asia and the rest of the world. You will study key themes such as the evolution of the Asian continent, and the complex challenges of global politics. Teaching is underpinned by the work of our Asia Research Institute which addresses the major political, social and economic challenges of the region.You’ll be fully immersed in the culture of the region when you spend your second year studying at either our China or Malaysia campus. Through a range of optional modules you can specialise in areas such as environmental governance, security, the media, immigration and citizenship. You could also study Mandarin if you go to China.
