Course summary
The MA International Relations helps you to understand and critically reflect on the global challenges of our times. We live in a world of poly-crises, from war and conflict to climate change and sustainability. Human rights are challenged on multiple occasions. In this MA, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge to help you negotiate some of these issues by: exploring the role of governmental, inter-governmental and non-governmental agencies, private enterprises and international bodies in world politics gaining a deeper understanding of specific regions in the world and how they impact on world politics learning about the (in)securities of our time and the future of peace and human rights. Sussex has one of only four dedicated International Relations departments in the UK. You’ll learn from leading International Relations scholars whose cutting-edge research informs their teaching. You’ll systematically study world politics through a critical theoretical foundation. At the same time, we have your employability in mind. You’ll build a portfolio of skills that will enable you to pursue a career globally from local and national governments to international organisations, from NGOs to transnational corporations.
