BA (Hons) International Tourism Management with Marketing with Integrated Foundation Year (BIMMF)A foundation year at Leeds Beckett is an ideal transitional step into higher education and will fully prepare you for undergraduate study. We are offering our BA (Hons) International Tourism Management with Marketing degree with an integrated foundation year. If you don't have the required UCAS points to be able to secure a place on the full degree programme, this foundation year will prepare you for academic life at our university.During the foundation year, you will study six events, tourism and hospitality management related modules. These will introduce you to the subjects included on each of our 10 routes, from events principles and practice to customer service experiences.Two additional modules will develop the academic and study skills needed to successfully transition from school or the workplace to higher education and on to your full degree programme. You will also learn how to access the extensive resources and support services available here at Leeds Beckett, whether you need a hand locating specialist materials in the Library, or you need advice about personal issues.During your second, third and fourth years you will study an average of six modules each year. You will identify different customer segments to develop effective marketing strategies and campaigns aimed at the right audience, at the right time, and using the right platforms. You will gain an understanding of consumer trends – who wants what type of holiday, the types of holiday likely to be available in the future and the kinds of message consumers are likely to engage with.You will acquire an understanding of sustainable tourism and development as well as the organisational structure and management of this ever-expanding field, helping you to learn how businesses operate and how skilled leaders can add to their success. You will also gain an insight into moral, ethical, environmental and legal issues, allowing you to make a valuable contribution to the tourism and travel sector.In your second and third year, you will have the opportunity to further enhance your knowledge through specialist marketing modules and link your marketing work with innovative launches of new tourism experiences. In the final year, you will develop an entrepreneurial approach by working on live projects with key industry partners to create new solutions to real-life marketing challenges.
