Course summary

On this course, you'll gain detailed knowledge of the theories, approaches and methods of language teaching. We'll also give you an up-to-date overview of current approaches, methods, trends and issues in language teaching, so you'll know the latest developments in the field. We will also give you a thorough grounding in the theory and practice of second language acquisition. You can then specialise, according to your interests.

If you want to teach your mother tongue or any other languages that you speak and you don’t have a background in linguistics, then this course is for you. You can gain a postgraduate language teaching qualification at one of the UK's top departments – and practise your skills in one of the world’s most multicultural cities – London.
