Your optional study and work placements abroad help you develop the global skill set employers are looking for.**How you learn**You’ll acquire and apply international business knowledge while developing high-level skills in your main and secondary languages, as well as your cultural awareness. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with real companies to increase your employability potential. **You learn through** - lectures and seminars, including with guest speakers- weekly sessions with Foreign Language Assistants to perfect your speaking skills- language modules taught in the target language- independent and directed study- presentations and group work- a variety of innovative teaching methods taught in state-of-the-art facilities- an optional semester abroad at one of our European partner universities- an optional 24-week placement in a German-speaking country**Applied learningWork placements**As part of your course you have the option to spend at least 24 weeks on a paid work placement in a relevant organisation in Germany.Not only is your placement a fantastic way to explore and get to know a different country, it’s a great opportunity to gain valuable international business experience and apply the knowledge developed throughout your studies. It also helps you develop your professional skills and German language ability – significantly enhancing your employability. **Live projects**In addition to the optional 24-week work placement, you’ll also undertake Highly Skilled Employment projects in each academic year. You’ll apply your learning alongside your language skills, working with local, national and international organisations. You’ll also learn from the experiences of other students, as part of our wider Languages Community.**Networking opportunities**We’re proud of our links with UK and international businesses, and with our alumni.
