Course summary

**Why Law?**Our Law course is a qualifying degree recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which will prepare you for a successful career. You’ll explore fundamental principles of law in England and Wales, including legal methods and skills, constitutional law, criminal law and property law. You can also tailor your study to suit your own individual ambitions and interests, specialising in a range of subjects such as family law, media and entertainment law and company law. With the chance to undertake an insightful field trip to a major legal institution in Europe (additional costs may apply, see course web page for details), for example hearing a live case being argued or witnessing a crimes against humanity trial, our ‘Make It’ programme of experiences really helps our students stand out from the competition. You’ll draw on the expertise of lecturers with extensive professional credentials and research experience, as well as learn from inspiring legal guest speakers. You’ll also hone your courtroom skills in the Moot Court Room at our brand new state-of-the-art School of Business and Technology building at Oxstalls campus in Gloucester, and put your learning into practice by giving advice to real clients at our law clinic, at the Law Centre or the Citizens Advice Bureau.**Why University of Gloucestershire?**We’ve been using our expertise to support and inspire students since 1847. Join us and you will benefit from professional-standard facilities in the beautiful, historic surroundings of Cheltenham and Gloucester. Our vibrant and tight-knit community of over 10,000 students and staff paired with a wide variety of courses means you will have the best of both worlds – a diverse community of sports clubs, societies and activities while also benefiting from specialist lecturers who value you as an individual. Who Cares? We do. We care about our students and the planet. We listened to what our students value most, turning our prospectus digital and providing opportunities for them to protect the planet and move on to study in an environment that works hard to support future generations. As a result, we’re proud that the University of Gloucestershire has been judged the UK’s most sustainable university. Our students never tire of finding inspiration here in the dynamic county of Gloucestershire, home to over 45 festivals every year, including 2000trees, Wychwood and the world-famous Cheltenham Literature festival. Many students gain valuable skills and experience working at these events alongside their studies.**After the course**Your story with us doesn’t end at graduation.
