The LLM programme will equip you with the legal knowledge and expertise needed to effect real change in the world, whether working in the legal profession, business, government, civil society, international organisations or academia.You will focus on the critical analysis of law and economic, social and global justice, positioning you for a leading career in legal practice, policy or research. The degree is taught at Loughborough London University, a well-connected talent hub on the site of the London 2012 Olympics, by internationally recognised experts at the forefront of legal research and education.Through your selection of modules, you will engage with a range of contemporary legal and policy issues, and with current thinking on those issues. You will learn how law can contribute to economic, social and other injustices, as well as how it can be used to promote social and global justice.The programme will provide you with the necessary intellectual, analytical and critical skills to successfully understand and apply varying legal and interdisciplinary theories and concepts in the context of contemporary challenges and controversies. It will enable you to undertake independent research and formulate your own arguments relating to topics of particular interest to you.The thought-leaders who have developed and teach the programme undertake innovative research in their fields and have a wealth of experience of preparing students for diverse and rewarding career destinations.Over the course of the programme, you will:Develop advanced knowledge and expertise and critical awareness of current issues in fields of national, transnational and international law and regulationEngage in critical evaluation of the role of law in contributing to economic, social and other injustices, as well as its use in pursuing social and global justiceReceive a broad grounding in theoretical and interdisciplinary perspectives and transferrable legal and analytical skills for research, practice and policyDevelop advanced legal research and writing skills, and build your capacity to undertake independent research, including as a pathway to further doctoral studiesEnhance your employment opportunities in the legal profession, business, government, international and non-governmental organisations, civil society or academia.
