Course summary
**You’ll learn to think like a lawyer, undertake legal research and apply your knowledge of legal and political science to broad social problems and challenges.**You'll get to grips with the concept of law, legal phenomena and legal systems. And you'll examine political theory and key advances in human security and welfare. Our extensive connections in Westminster, together with wider UK and international expertise, ensure you will be at the heart of contemporary political debate.Law at Hull also comes with lots of opportunities to get involved in CV-boosting extracurricular activities. These include paid summer internships with local legal organisations, and mini pupillages, run in partnership with Wilberforce Chambers, which offer experience of the work done by barristers.Plus, our yearly careers convention lets you rub shoulders with leading law firms like Gosschalks, Rollits, rradar, Pepperells, Andrew Jackson Solicitors, and more. You'll get the chance to apply your thinking to the real-world through and give real legal advice to real clients at our Legal Advice Centre - meaning you could be helping parents regain contact with their children, advising clients on divorce and property rights, and assisting with appeals against benefits decisions. And you could take part in rewarding volunteering projects, such as the Appropriate Adult scheme, with our vibrant Student Law Society also organising regular mooting competitions, as well as client interview practice.Extend your studies by spending a year abroad at one of our partner universities.**Official Team GB partners**Did you know that the University of Hull is the official University Partner of Team GB? Our united belief is that anyone, with the right opportunities ahead and a dedicated team behind, can achieve extraordinary things. This is what our partnership with Team GB is built on.
