Course summary

Overview

This part-time course is designed for those who wish to pursue their career and interests in leadership and management. Focused and pragmatic, the PgCert, PgDip and MA are all designed to offer a variety of support and are targeted at managers at all stages of their career.

The course aims to develop both the intellectual frameworks and practical skills managers and leaders need to operate in dynamic and complex work environments. In doing so, it aims to build an understanding of the nature of organizations and the external context within which leaders and managers operate.

The full programme is completed over two years. However experienced managers or those with previous qualifications may also be eligible to complete the course over a shorter period. Please contact us directly to discuss the eligibility of prior qualification or experience using our enquiry forms, for UK and EU/International students.

By studying at Coventry Business School, you will benefit from our 50 years of experience teaching business related courses and our expertise in leadership development, which has recently seen us awarded contracts with the Cabinet Office and the Chevening Programme to deliver training to future leaders.

This course is accredited and recognised by Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Career prospects

The course aims for students to emerge with well-developed powers of self-reflection, clear perspectives on strategy and strategic thinking, and highly effective management and research skills, upon successful completion. All of these skills are demanded by employers in private, public, and third sector organisations around the world.

Graduates from the MA should be well informed to face the challenges of senior managers working in organisations in the twenty-first century. For those currently employed but wishing for career progression, successful completion of this course can allow the application of advanced skills and knowledge in the relevant industry.

For those looking for a different pathway, successful graduates may able to pursue a wide range of leadership and management careers in global corporations, government organisations, management consultancies and leadership/management education and training.
