Course summary

The Diploma aims to prepare learners for study at university in a range of degrees such as Primary Teaching with QTS** , Social Work, Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, History, English along with many more . The course comprises of a range of subjects together with Core Skills Studies. The modules may include Psychology, Sociology, History, Media and English. This will be advised by tutor. The Core Skills include Communication, Study Skills and Numeracy.

Assessment

The programme is achieved by continuous assessment, the majority of which is assignment work with some experience of timed tests or examination situations. Credits are achieved on satisfactory completion of each unit of study. To be awarded an Access to HE Diploma, 60 credits must be achieved, which include a number of mandatory credits. Level 3 credits are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction. On successful completion of the full programme of study students are awarded the Agored Cymru 'QAA - recognised' Access to H.E. Diploma.
