Course summary

This four-year course is run jointly between the School of English and the School of East Asian Studies (SEAS). The Japanese side of the course combines intensive study of the Japanese language (from beginner level) with modules on Japan and East Asia. Your Linguistics modules will provide you with all the analytical tools and concepts that are essential to becoming a successful linguist. Our world-leading research, active student community and civic ethos makes Sheffield one of the world's most exciting places to study Linguistics and Japanese Studies. Our academic staff are experts in their field and use their cutting-edge research to inform their teaching and the content of the modules that you'll study.
