Why Logistics and Supply Chain Management? Logistics and Supply Chain Management BSc(Hons) is an innovative professional programme developed in partnership with the NOVUS Trust. The Trust is an industry-led organisation that focuses on developing talent in the supply chain. If you’re wanting to go into supply chain management, this could be the course for you. We’ll examine how leading companies organise and manage their logistics and supply chain to ensure success.This includes topics such as planning, sourcing, manufacturing and physical logistics and on the way we’ll give you the chance to develop your business management, leadership and decision-making skills. We want to make you employment-ready so you can take the next step in your career. How will I learn? You will learn through practical application and delivered lectures, workshops, seminars and group work sessions. * You’ll have the opportunity to be coached by a mentor drawn from industry, tasked with assisting you with your professional development so you’ll be dealing with someone who works in the industry on a daily basis, and you’ll be able to take part in industry-led seminars and site visits. In addition, you will have a University personal tutor, guiding you in personal and academic development. * The NOVUS Trust will help you take things further, provided you secure a 2:1 degree and complete all your coursework, they will guarantee an offer of employment with one of the companies involved when you graduate. Recent companies involved include Argos, ASOS, Muller and Morrisons. * We’ll also give you the chance to take paid placements, and a placement year with a leading employer. Previous students have taken placements with Sainsbury’s, ASOS, Travis Perkins, Nestle, Muller and many others. So if you’re looking to go into logistics and supply chain management, this course could enable you to take your first step in your career. In addition to the course, the NOVUS Trust will provide opportunities for you to undertake additional professional qualifications that will enhance your CV and increase your value in the workplace. What subjects will you cover? You’ll explore subjects such as Principles of Logistics, Commercial management, Marketing and Innovation, Planning Techniques for Logistics and Transport Operations, Purchasing and Supply, Strategy and Leadership and Retail and Manufacturing Logistics. If you want to learn about this exciting and interesting subject from an enthusiastic staff team with industrial experience and academic expertise, then a course in this area could be right for you. Our industry focused courses have been designed with the help of major companies to give you the skills, competencies and knowledge valued by industry and prepared for a management career.
