**Course snapshot**Our Marketing Management foundation degree, accredited by the University of Birmingham, will give you the business and marketing theory, as well as the practical experience, required to succeed in this demanding field.**Who’s the course for?**This course is ideal if you are seeking a thorough grounding in marketing principles, creativity and innovation, and the ‘business ready’ skills sought by employers. Tell me some more**After completing the first year of the Marketing Management course, you will be given the opportunity to take a 48-week optional placement. If you choose to do so, you will be supported by our dedicated hired@UCB staff, who organise presentations and meetings with employers to help you identify the kind of placement you want, either in the UK or overseas.There are extensive opportunities to customise your studies through a range of specialist optional modules, gain valuable work experience in events and marketing, take part in an industry-based competition, and gain an industry recognised marketing qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).Eligible students can also get £300 a year for study materials via our Kick-Start scheme. On successful completion of the foundation degree, you will be eligible to transfer to the BA (Hons) degree.**What skills will I gain?**We will equip you with the industry knowledge and skills you need to start your career in marketing, or build on previous marketing experience. The course will allow you to develop and demonstrate technical, creative, supervisory and managerial skills in preparation for a career in marketing management.There are lots of opportunities to put marketing theory into practice to ensure you develop your business-ready skills. You will be learning from experienced lecturers and industry professionals through a mix of lectures, seminars, workshops, ‘real world’ simulations and guest lectures.You will also earn how to evaluate the success of marketing activities through a range of innovative assessments, including e-debates, academic posters, action plans and digital diaries.**What about the future?**Our Marketing Management graduates have secured jobs in event promotions, sales management and marketing research. Many go on to pursue entrepreneurial ambitions and launch their own businesses. The degree will enable you to pursue careers in:- Advertising and media- Communications and marketing- Finance- The health and education sectors- Public relations Upon completion of the foundation degree, you can also progress onto the final year of the full BA (Hons) degree.
