Develop practical knowledge of accounting and financial management, alongside a strong understanding of core mathematical techniques.

You explore modern accounting theory and practice, such as:

  • financial accounting
  • company accounts
  • corporate finance

You also develop a thorough grounding in mathematics and statistics, including:

  • differential equations
  • probability

Many of our accountancy modules carry exemptions from accrediting bodies and/or are based on real case studies, helping you prepare for a professional career.

Teaching methods

Our degrees are taught using a combination of lectures, problem classes, tutorials, practical computer classes, computer-based assessments, and data collection and analysis.

Work placement

Get career ready with a work placement and leave as a confident professional in your field. You can apply to spend 9 to 12 months working in any organisation in the world, and receive University support from our dedicated team to secure your dream placement. Work placements take place between stages 2 and 3.

You'll gain first-hand experience of working in the sector, putting your learning into practice and developing your professional expertise.

If you choose to take a work placement, it will extend your degree by a year. Placements are subject to availability.

This course will prepare you for a wide range of career opportunities in accounting, finance and statistical roles across a variety of sectors.

A level : A*BB - AAB

AAB or A*BB including at least a grade A in Mathematics, and excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking OR ABB or A*BC including at least grade A in Mathematics and excluding General Studies AND including one A level from: Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Geography, History, Physics and Modern/Classical Languages or grade 2 in any STEP paper.Applicants are expected to have a minimum of grade B or 6 in English at GCSE.
