This course brings together closely related aspects of computer science and mathematics, giving students a firm foundation in computational mathematics.

Course overview:

Delve into numerical analysis, algorithm design and analysis, and computer programming, developing a wealth of transferrable skills sought after by employers from areas such as IT, cybersecurity, logistics and operational research. Explore both the theory and practice, and use practical computing skills to model and design algorithms to test theoretical concepts, and gain practical experience with a range of programming languages.

Work based learning:

During the final weeks of the second year (Level 5), students have the opportunity to undertake a work placement for academic credit. Furthermore, the course facilitates an optional year in industry before returning for the final year, should students secure an appropriate placement.
