Course summary

This four-year degree is based on the standard BSc Mathematics (G100). It provides the opportunity of studying abroad in your third year. An international year has many employability benefits that will help you in your career. You will develop key skills such as: - communication- confidence- language skills- independenceAll of these are extremely sought after by employers. You'll have the opportunity to study maths abroad choosing from countries including Australia, Canada, France, Germany and USA.Throughout the degree you'll learn the many different areas of mathematics. The course covers pure and applied maths, mathematical physics, probability and statistics. Our lecturers are experts in advanced mathematical techniques and theories. You will also develop wider skills in analytical thinking and problem-solving. In preparation for your time abroad, language modules can be studied alongside maths during your second year.- Core modules will build on your understanding of the fundamentals of mathematics- Freedom to choose from a wide range of exciting optional modules, including languages- Accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications- Support from senior students on a range of important first-year topics is provided- Good preparation for a future career in computing, finance, engineering, healthcare or education

A level : AAA - A*AA

A*AA/AAA/A*AB at A level including A level mathematics at grade A*/A (or equivalent). Applicants may be asked for one of: A* in A level mathematics, A in A level further mathematics or A in AS level further mathematics. STEP is not required but may be taken into consideration when offered.A levels in general studies, critical thinking and citizenship studies are not accepted.
