Course summary

This four-year integrated masters will help prepare you for a career in mathematical research or further study. As well as core modules, you will study topics of your choice at an in-depth and advanced level. Your fourth year is almost entirely tailored to your own interests. This gives you the opportunity to specialise in an area that you may like to pursue as a career.Explore the areas of mathematics that fascinate you.- A wide range of optional modules for you to choose from- Participate in project and dissertation work- Specialise in topics across mathematical physics, mathematical medicine and biology or financial mathsOur teaching is linked to our research groups. This means you will be taught by experts in their field who use their own active research to support their teaching. Furthermore the degree is accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.You'll be supported by like-minded students through our peer mentoring programme. Senior students will provide help through regular small group sessions on a range of important first-year topics.There's flexibility to transfer onto the three-year BSc during the first two years. You can also spend time overseas through the university's study abroad programme.

Applicants may be asked for one of: A* in A level mathematics, A in A level further mathematics or A in AS level further mathematics. STEP is not required but may be taken into consideration when offered.A levels in general studies, critical thinking and citizenship studies are not accepted.
