This course is primarily intended for candidates who have not studied the prerequisite subjects required for first-year entry, those who have not met their expected entrance requirements due to adverse circumstances, individuals with prior elite sports commitments, as well as mature students returning to education or care leavers.Loughborough University's Foundation Studies programme is designed to support a broad range of students in achieving their university aspirations. The programme’s streamed structure enables progression onto a variety of degree courses within a chosen stream, allowing students additional time to decide which academic path best aligns with their goals.The foundation programme is well-suited to:Students lacking the necessary prerequisite subjects for direct first-year entry into a preferred courseStudents who have not met entrance requirements due to adverse circumstances such as illness or caring responsibilitiesMature students or care leaversElite-level athletes managing the dual demands of academic study and high-level sporting competition.Students on the foundation course are full members of the University and enjoy access to the Students’ Union, clubs, societies, sports facilities, and support services, as well as the exceptional student experience that Loughborough is known for.
