Course summary
You’re right at the start of your exciting mathematics journey and we’re here to build your mathematics and science skills. These will provide you with the foundations to excel when you move onto BSc (Hons) Mathematics in your second year.You'll explore numbers, data, quantity, structure, space, models, and change, and mathematical applications are fundamental to business and society. If you have a passion for mathematics, this course will help you to discover the proper application of modern techniques. The Mathematics degree course blends theory and practical applications so that you’ll be fully prepared for specialist employment in a broad range of roles and sectors.You’ll learn by taking part in a series of projects both individually and in a group. These projects are an opportunity to get hands-on, apply your knowledge, and develop your problem-solving and creative thinking skills. Join our Mathematics Society, and you’ll have the opportunity to take part in regular events hosted on campus by the local branch of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
