Course summary

This course aims to prepare you to meet the challenges of the current and future therapies in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) is a unique speciality encompassing care of the pregnant woman from preconception to after delivery (obstetrics) and management of disorders of the female genital tract (gynaecology).

A unique aspect of this MCh course is the teaching of regenerative medicine. Regenerative medicine is fast evolving in obstetrics and gynaecology and has been the subject of a Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology scientific impact paper.

This course will help you to appreciate this area of medicine and the many applications, which includes the exciting areas of gene therapy, vaginal and bladder reconstruction among others. It provides an evidence-based approach for the management of patients, and provides a foundation for those who will eventually undertake formal exit examinations in this specialty.

Your future career

Completion of this course will not only give you a MCh in a surgical pathway that will aid your career progression, but it will highly enhance your prospects of employment. You will gain the knowledge and skills that few trainee doctors will possess and it will place you at the forefront of technology and science.

These skills will be highly sought after.
