Course summary
A growing number of companies, whether new or well established, are increasingly utilising advanced automation, robotics and computerised inspection techniques to meet the growing needs of the sector.
Any company wanting to develop a concept or idea into a reality would call upon the skills and knowledge of a Manufacturing Engineer. Manufacturing Engineers are called upon to work on a vast range of applications, from aerospace to automotive to sports equipment or electronic goods.
This programme has been developed to equip you with the skills, knowledge and capabilities which would allow you to make a make a valuable contribution to a wide range of established and emerging industries, making it a truly versatile and transferable qualification.
Modern Manufacturing Engineering takes place in a highly competitive, rapidly changing market place and is very different from the traditional impressions of this sector.
Course Overview
The Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering programmes are intended to provide students with a thorough grounding in mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering.
In addition, students will develop knowledge in a suitable range of manufacturing processes and materials. The programmes will also consider environmental aspects of design and technology and will enable students to gain a range of skills, relevant to a broad range of employment opportunities.
A thorough understanding of automation, robotics, digital simulation and manufacturing concepts are also important if engineers are going to be able to deploy these advanced technologies to their full potential. These topics are covered in our programme.
