Teaching and learning

Teaching encourages student participation as well as developing understanding regarding the practical application of psychology within education.

We aim to build on the expertise of our students, many of whom are experienced teachers, and who bring with them a wealth of knowledge and practical experience from a wide range of different countries.

You can choose to study full-time or part-time, enabling you to fit learning around your other commitments.

Teaching takes place on Mondays and Thursdays at 1.30-4pm and 5.30-8pm. Part-time students can choose to attend either both afternoons, both evenings or all of one day. Part-time students are advised to contact the course director and discuss their application in the first instance.

Coursework and assessment

Our course team work to support the individual needs of our students. You will be allocated a personal academic advisor who will guide your academic and professional development.

We employ a range of teaching methods and formats to ensure a varied and engaging learning experience. Each course unit has a written assessment that will be followed by formative and summative feedback.

The dissertation features the opportunity for an empirical research study of your choosing and can involve qualitative, quantitative or mixed research methods.
