Course summary
Students entering Medicine at St Andrews have the unique opportunity to graduate after three years at St Andrews with a BSc Honours degree in Medicine before moving on to one of the University's partner medical schools to complete their training as a doctor and graduate with an MBChB/MBBS. The course provides students with an excellent scientific foundation for clinical practice, helps develops ethical understanding and decision making skills and provides early, relevant clinical experience in a highly supportive educational environment. The BSc (Hons) in Medicineprovides you with a thoroughknowledge of the foundationsof medical science, whilstdeveloping skills required by‘Tomorrow’s Doctors’.Depending on where youintend to undertake your finalthree years towards an MB ChB/MBBS degree, the A100 degreeprogramme offers three differentapplication routes (Scotland,England and No Preference) forHome and RUK students. If youare ‘overseas’ for fee purposes,you will progress to theUniversity of Manchester.Three years full time, plus a further three years of training with a partner medical school to graduate with a Bachelor of Medicine or Surgery (MBChB/MBBS).
