Overview
Visual Effects and Motion Graphics/Animation is an exciting and expanding industry both locally and internationally. Completion of this course will enable further opportunities in Higher Education but primarily can lead to direct employment with local and international companies.
Due to industry demand and the success of the Visual Effects course that have seen its graduating students work on exciting productions such as Game of Thrones, Captain Marvel, Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and TV series Watchmen and Line of Duty the same core lecturing team have developed this new Motion Graphics course.
The course prides itself on direct industry links and its core lecturing team of professionals who have come from or are currently practicing in industry. This will provide you with a combination of creative, technical and practical skills required to develop your core knowledge, understanding and abilities needed to work in the Visual Effects and Motion Graphics/Animation sector.
The Motion Graphics course is primarily designed to prepare you for roles within the TV and Feature Film production pipeline with an emphasis on 2D/3D Animation skills with and the development of how Creative Graphic Design techniques apply to emerging technologies.
How will I be assessed?
The course will be assessed through project based assignments that primarily focus on the development of practical skills underpinned by essential theoretical research required to understand the processes involved. The course will be mainly practical with some theoretical modules. Students will also meet local industry professionals. This programme of study is likely to include enrichment units which are an additional component to enhance your employability.
Career Prospects
The screen industries which include Visual Effects, Animation, Motion Graphics and Games Development is one of the fastest growing sectors in the Irish and UK economy. The skills developed on this course prepare students for numerous opportunities that include progression to University Degrees and various entry level career positions in the screen industries.
