Course summary
The Motorsport Engineering programmes are intended to provide you with a thorough grounding in mechanical engineering science and technologies and their application to design and the solution of a range of engineering problems in the context of the motorsport engineering industry.The programmes aim to develop your ability to work with others to apply this work to real-world problems, a skill vital for your future employability in this industry. Our graduates have demonstrated over the decades the competence to respond to the needs of employers and are recognised as able to “hit the ground running” and getting the job done.Motorsport Engineering covers three themes; core engineering covers subjects such as Maths, thermodynamics, mechanics, structures, stress analysis and advanced computational methods. The Design theme explores computational methods with practical skills in CAED. Finally, the applied technology theme teaches vehicle technology, motorsport vehicle dynamics and powertrain control, motorsport research and development and competition engine design.The degree has been be accredited as meeting the academic requirement, in part, for Chartered Engineer (CEng in Part).
