Based within the School of Social Sciences our research program in sociology centres on collective spaces, relationships and communication with a particular focus on power and justice. Out research ranges from empirically grounded exploration of lived experience to the theoretical dimensions of race, class and inequality. Our supervisors have particular experience in ethnicity, religious identity, race in popular culture, mobilities, childhood and family, leisure media and social activism.
