As a practitioner in the public domain of health and social care services, you are expected to be innovative, provide leadership and make an advanced contribution in your professional clinical role. This course caters for a wide range of fields with pathways that include:

  • Neonates, Children and Young People
  • Adult Acute
  • Primary Care

You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the theoretical knowledge and competence in practical skills associated with advanced clinical practice such as history taking, clinical examination, clinical management and prescribing (where appropriate).

In addition, you will critically appraise relevant health and social policy as well as address ethical and professional issues.

We have strong regional and national links to clinical practice across a wide range of specialities inclusive of a large inter-disciplinary team of professionals who will support you in this journey.

Course details

You'll develop a combination of theoretical and practical skills which include applied physiology, history taking, clinical examination and case management. In addition, you’ll master critical thinking, knowledge and application of research methods, and efficient approaches to time management, prioritisation and clinical workload planning to aid the attainment of autonomous practice.

The course will enable you to apply your knowledge and skills to achieve advanced clinical levels of practice and influence decision making at both local and national strategic levels.
