Course summary

Loughborough has been teaching construction at postgraduate level longer than any other university in the UK. The MSc Construction Project Management spans the technical and managerial sides of the discipline, while providing a more holistic appreciation of construction project processes.

The role of construction project managers is changing, adopting a more strategic and organisational role in the delivery of client projects. Loughborough’s holistic construction philosophy places graduates in good stead to take on these leading roles in the industry.

The academic team are respected in their research areas, and teaching content is strongly informed by their research developments. Industry focus is also an important aspect of this course, with guest speakers contributing to most modules. Respect from industry can also be evidenced in the employability of alumni who have gone on to become leaders in the construction profession around the world.

We are also a corporate affiliate member of the Association of Project Management.

In addition to state-of-the-art teaching facilities, the School houses its own design studio and computer laboratory. Our 3,000m2 open-plan laboratory includes concrete, geotechnics, strength of materials, hydraulics, structures, surveying, public health and building services engineering laboratories along with support workshops.
