Course summary
On our MSc Criminal Justice programme you’ll learn from our experts and develop your understanding of Criminal Justice theories and concepts in real-world settings. You’ll be taught by tutors with academic and professional experience. The course will develop your ability to understand the Criminal Justice System (CJS) at a conceptual and operational level, incorporating UK and international perspectives. You’ll analyse social, economic and political influences, including youth, race, gender and the media, to explore how different societies attempt to control crime and offenders. Optional modules will enable you to advance your critical analytical skills in the fields of international criminal law, terrorism, open source Internet investigation and multi-agency Early Action Partnerships. Future careers:This programme could develop your career into the diverse field of Criminal Justice or the security industry. Some of our MSc Criminal Justice graduates complete the course for personal professional development in their current position. They choose to continue with enhanced career prospects. Others seek new positions within the UK and international criminal justice context. Such careers include working in the fields of policing, HMPS, victim support services and other third sector organisations.
