ABOUT THE COURSE
This specialist master’s degree provides an analytical and theoretical appreciation of criminological theory, combined with a critical, practical understanding of crime scenes to prepare you for a career in criminology or crime scene management. Examining both current criminological issues and justice challenges for the future, the course is stimulating, relevant and designed around personal development.
Supported by experienced staff, your studies will reflect contemporary criminology professional practice and will prepare you for a career in criminology or crime scene management.

The skills you will develop are benchmarked against the needs of sector employers, delivering an essential package of analytical thinking, crime scene investigation, evidential studies and critical thinking.

This course offers lecturing staff who are current within the industry, former criminal justice practitioners, and who have strong industry connections that offer employment opportunities.
What does this course lead to?
As a master’s graduate with directly relevant skills and knowledge, you will be well placed for roles in the police and related services, such as detective (direct entry), crime scene investigator, crime analyst, probation or prison services. You will also have career options in charity and support services, from victim or addiction support to human rights work.

This course is designed for graduates of criminology, social sciences, law and other relevant disciplines, as well as experienced non-graduate criminal justice practitioners.
